TOMRA Cleanaway staff were delighted to recently visit our partners in the Golden Plains Shire to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Harry, the store owner, and the team at the Teesdale General Store & Post Office in operating refund point for Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme.
Since the scheme commenced on 1 November 2023, the reverse vending machine on site has seen an impressive 1 million eligible containers returned and counting. This means over $100,000 back into the pockets of local residents and community groups in the area.
By partnering with TOMRA Cleanaway to operate a CDS Vic refund point, the Teesdale General Store has provided the community with an accessible and effective way to recycle eligible drink containers, helping to reduce litter and promote sustainable practices.

The store is a bustling hub for the small town of Teesdale, just outside of Geelong in the Golden Plains Shire. Housing the town post office, community noticeboard, general store and takeaway, the Teesdale General Store is delivering many essential services to the locals.
