Celebrating the International Day of People with Disability!
Today ‘International Day of People with Disability’ is celebrated globally.
The aim of the day is to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability, shining a light on the achievements and contributions the community make each day.
TOMRA Cleanaway’s CDS Vic West Zone network operation by TOMRA Cleanaway in NSW has enabled partnerships with disability employment services across the state. For these organisations, the partnership hosting return points has delivered new revenue streams, business operations and employment opportunities across regional NSW. Resulting in employment for people with disabilities that prior to the scheme commencing in 2017, would not have been possible.
Our partners in industry and disability services speak highly of the relationship and opportunities provided by a partnership with TOMRA Cleanaway and the value beyond employment opportunity that the partnership provides.
“We employ people with a disability, our partnership with TOMRA Cleanaway enables our staff to come to work and not only earn money, but they feel they are helping keep our town litter free and cutting back on land fill which they are very proud of.”
– Judi Lucas, Site Manager, Bourke Laundry Service a disability services provider and return and point operator.
We recently published an article in The Age, that highlighted how TOMRA Cleanaway is delivering in partnership with charities and not for profit organisations in Victoria for CDS Vic. Link here to the published article.

The Willing and Able Foundation in Port Macquarie is yet another regional good news story that demonstrates the valuable contribution people with disability are providing to the scheme in NSW. TOMRA Cleanaway network has partnered to host an over the counter return point on the NSW mid-north coast.
TOMRA Cleanaway celebrates and gives thanks to disability employment organisations that are helping deliver an accessible and convenient container deposit scheme for the citizens of NSW and through our refund point network in Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme CDS Vic.
