That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the opening of a new Return and Earn machine at Elara Shopping Village in Marsden Park. This new addition marks the 28th return point in the Blacktown area, a testament to our ongoing investment in expanding the network. We understand that the easier it is to recycle, the more containers get returned, and the more refunds go back into your pocket – or to a worthy cause!
This new machine, located at the rear of the Elara Shopping Village car park, even features ‘takes-all’ technology. That means no more sorting! Just deposit all your eligible containers into any chute, and you’re good to go. You can choose to receive your 10-cent refund as a Coles voucher (earning you money off your shop), an e-voucher, or even direct to your bank or PayPal via the Return and Earn app.
Blacktown’s Recycling Powerhouse: 751 Million Containers and Counting!
The enthusiasm for recycling in the Blacktown City Council area is truly inspiring. Since Return and Earn began in 2017, the Blacktown community has returned an astounding 751 million eligible bottles, cans, and cartons! This incredible achievement highlights the dedication of local residents to environmental sustainability. Statewide, over 13.8 billion containers have been recycled, putting over $1.3 billion back into the hands of consumers. James Dorney, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, said, “Residents in the Blacktown City Council area are enthusiastic recyclers, returning over 751 million eligible containers in just 7.5 years”
