A new Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme refund point lands at Glenroy’s Giant Pantry!
Recycling drink bottles, cans and cartons with Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) in Merri-bek takes another big step forward this month, with the installation of a new large format, automated reverse vending machine in the front carpark of Giant Pantry, 358 Waterloo Road, Glenroy.
Operated by TOMRA Cleanaway, the West Zone network operator for CDS Vic, this new refund point opened to the public on Friday 17, October 2025, delivering a fast and easy way for residents to recycle their eligible drink containers and claim their 10c refund.
Designed for convenience and efficiency, the state-of-the-art machine features four simultaneous return lanes, meaning up to four participants can cash in at a time. This helps to keep wait times short and returning easier, helping to make recycling part of everyday life. The new machine will operate from 7:00am to 9:00pm, 7 days a week.
CDS Vic access expanding in Merri-bek
This new RVM is the 19th CDS Vic refund point in the City of Merri-bek, reinforcing the TOMRA Cleanaway and Council’s joint commitment to accessible and rewarding recycling solutions.

To date, TOMRA Cleanaway’s West Zone operation has collected more than 938 million containers in the West Zone, putting more than $93,800,000 back into the pockets of Victorians.
As of 23 October, over 1,000 charities, community groups, and organisations have registered as CDS Vic Donation Partners with TOMRA Cleanaway in the West Zone of CDS Vic and are embracing the opportunity to use the CDS Vic West Zone app as a fundraising tool.
Residents can download the CDS Vic West Zone app to check on the live status of their local refund point, verify container eligibility, and manage and track container refunds.
