This new Return and Earn machine brings the total number of return points in the Kiama Local Government Area to 5, providing the local community with easy and convenient access to return their eligible bottles and cans.

New Return and Earn Machine Opens in Jamberoo

Kiama has a new location to return and earn with the opening of a Return and Earn machine at Jamberoo Golf Club.

Kiama Council residents are already enthusiastic recyclers, returning more than 15 million containers for recycling since Return and Earn launched in December 2017.

Users of the Jamberoo Golf Club machine have the option to print a voucher for the refund amount, redeemable for cash at Jamberoo IGA, or they can opt for an e-voucher or payment into their bank account or PayPal by downloading the Return and Earn app before visiting. They can also choose to donate some or all of their refund to one of the charity partners listed on the machine.

“Charities and community groups continue to benefit from Return and Earn with more than $30 million raised from donations and fees from hosting return points since the scheme launched in 2017. In the Kiama area, local charities and schools are increasingly using the scheme to raise much-needed funds,” Mr Dorney said.

PCYC Shoalhaven is currently featured as the local donation partner on the Jamberoo Golf Club machine. The centre focuses on empowering young people to survive and thrive in partnership with Police and the community. It is an integral sport and recreation facility in the Shoalhaven region serving local citizens since 1973.

Local recyclers can also support the latest state-wide major donation partners, Animal Welfare League NSW (AWL) and GIVIT. AWL rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes animals in need, while through GIVIT customers can support communities affected by the recent floods.

To date, more than 7.8 billion containers have been returned for recycling through the network of 620+ return points across NSW.

“By using the Jamberoo Golf Club machine, as well as your household recycling, we can all do our bit to reduce litter and landfill, and contribute to a more sustainable future,” said Mr Dorney.

The Jamberoo Golf Club Return and Earn machine is located at 21 Allowrie St, Jamberoo, and is open from 7am to 7pm daily.
