Return and Earn is even more convenient in Prestons
Liverpool residents have even more locations to recycle their eligible bottles, cans and cartons with the opening of a new Return and Earn machine in Prestons.
The HomeCo. Prestons Return and Earn machine is the 15th return point in the Liverpool City Council area, making it easier than ever to recycle eligible containers and get a 10c refund.
The machine is located at 1985 Camden Valley Way, Prestons. It is open Monday to Saturday from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm, and from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm on Sundays.
Recyclers at the new machine can print a voucher for the refund amount, which can be redeemed at Woolworths for a discount on their shopping or for cash. Recyclers can also opt for payment directly into their bank or PayPal account using the Return and Earn app.
“Liverpool City Council residents are enthusiastic recyclers, having returned over 479 million eligible bottles, cans and cartons through local return points since the scheme began,” a scheme spokesperson shared.
“More than 16 billion drink containers have been returned for recycling through the network of over 660 return points across NSW since Return and Earn began, resulting in over $1.6 billion in container refunds back in people’s pockets.”
Returns supporting the local community
Locals can also donate their refund to one of over 500 donation partners listed on the Return and Earn app, including William Carey Christian School, which encourages students to be sustainable with resources and raise money for projects.
Alternatively, recyclers can donate to the current statewide donation partner, The Smith Family, who help provide young people experiencing disadvantage with an equal chance to learn, and create better futures through the power of education.
Return and Earn has become a key fundraising channel for many charities and community groups in NSW. Over $100 million has been raised from donations and fees from hosting return points since the scheme launched in 2017.
