Currently Cleanaway’s national Executive General Manager, Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, Frank was appointed as Chairman and Director to the TOMRA Cleanaway Board in early 2022. More than 20 years’ experience in global operations including roles in senior corporate development, strategy and investment banking underpin Frank’s involvement in the TOMRA Cleanaway operation.

Frank’s prowess with strategic decision making and governance are strength that Frank brings to the organisation. A Bachelor of Business Administration, a Masters of Business Administration from York University in Toronto (Canada) and a CPA qualification.

Tor Eirik Knutsen

A global executive with decades of experience in senior roles, Tor Eirik returned to TOMRA as Chief Financial Officer for TOMRA Collection Solutions Global (Norway) in January 2020.

Before re-joining TOMRA, Tor Eirik held executive positions in one of Norway’s leading mining and hydropower organisations as well as Group CFO for stock listed Q-Free ASA, a leading player within the traffic management solutions business.

Currently serving as a Director of TOMRA Cleanaway, Tor Eirik represents TOMRA Global. Tor Eirik offers TOMRA Cleanaway a strategic international perspective on container deposit system management best practice and valuable insights from TOMRA’s Optical Sorting technology operations.

A senior executive with global experience in the Asia Pacific region, Matt joined the TOMRA Cleanaway Board in early 2022 bringing his unique experiences to the organisation.  At Cleanaway, Matt is responsible for leading New South Wales network of collections and post collection facilities. As a Director of TOMRA Cleanaway, Matt is responsible for all collections and recycling processing requirements for the TOMRA Cleanaway network in NSW for Return and Earn.

Matt’s experience in executive roles has been achieved over 25 years across multiple service and technology industries including mining, energy, electrical, IT, and financial services.  A Bachelor of Science from LaTrobe University and a Master of Business Administration from Swinburne University underpin Matt’s education and experience.

Currently the Director – Strategy and Business Development for TOMRA Collection Solutions Australia, Markus Fraval has over 15 years of experience in container refund and deposit scheme market development in Australia.

 Instrumental in the design and execution of the NSW container deposit scheme, Markus is used to delivering excellence in time-pressured circumstances and navigating complex stakeholder requirements.

 Markus’ depth of understanding regarding the circular economy and closed loop systems is unsurpassed in the Australian container deposit market. Markus’ reputation and experience have resulted in representative appointments and consultative positions in various peak industry bodies. Markus previously worked as a consultant to the UN in Industrial Ecology and holds a MA (Cantab) in Management Studies.

Ryan Buzzell – Director (Alternate) TOMRA Cleanaway

Ryan Buzzell is the President of TOMRA Collection Solutions Australia, a subsidiary of TOMRA Systems ASA, a Norwegian based industry expert in reverse vending technology.

Ryan has over 15 years’ experience in a range of executive and management roles in the United States and Australia and has a proven track record of leading organisations through business growth and improvement. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager of TOMRA Metro New York, where he led TOMRA’s efforts in establishing a loss prevention program in the New York City market.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Communication from Michigan State University. He has completed Executive Programs in Leadership, Marketing, and Strategic Sales from Copenhagen Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Marius Løken – Director TOMRA Cleanaway

Marius Løken has +20-years of business experience with Container Deposit Schemes from various positions within TOMRA – the global leader of reverse vending solutions and a frontrunner and promoter of sustainable and effective deposit return systems.

Marius’ experience ranges from TOMRA’s European and US operations to his more recent achievements within the Asia Pacific. From 2015 to 2020, Marius has headed up TOMRA Collection Solutions’ APAC business, working out of Xiamen, China.  

As of August 1 2020, Marius has moved back to Europe to take on the new position as Head of Europe-Asia-Pacific. Marius was the appointed chairman for TOMRA Cleanaway’s board from 2017 to the end of 2019. He was a board director from 2017 until February 2021.
