recycler with child and eligible drink containers depot

Ahead of the 2025/26 peak period we have a number of marketing and communications activities in place to help drive volume through the Return and Earn network including:

  • Marketing campaign – The “Routines” campaign has been in market since February and encourages users to be aware of how they can include Return and Earn in their Routine
  • Social media content (see below for details)
  • Influencer video – highlighting use of the app to discover alternate return points and choose the right return point for the number of containers they have
  • Councils – emails to councils, regional organisations of councils and through Local Government NSW to drive awareness of the scheme and provide assets to share with communities
  • NSW Government MP engagement – letters to MPs highlighting peak period key messages

Our key messages for peak period include:

• Find a depot for bulk returns.

• Take your rubbish with you after returning and earning.

• Check live status, alternate return points and public holiday/opening hours of return points before visiting via the app or website.

• Check container eligibility using the container checker tool.

• Keep recycling wine and spirits bottles in the yellow-lid bin until mid-2027

You can help by sharing content on your social media channels highlighting these key messages or share content from the official Return and Earn page.
