“This shopfront style return point features three Return and Earn machines in an indoor setting, and brings the total number of return points in the City of Willoughby local area to four.” – James Dorney | CEO, TOMRA Cleanaway

Crows Nest locals will have a new location to recycle their eligible bottles and cans and redeem the 10c refund with the opening of a Return and Earn Express in the area.

Residents of North Sydney are already enthusiastic users of the scheme, having returned over 23 million containers for recycling since Return and Earn, launched in December 2017.

“This shopfront style return point features three Return and Earn machines in an indoor setting and brings the total number of return points in the City of Willoughby local area to four,” said James Dorney , CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, network operator for Return and Earn.

“The local community is provided with a convenient all-weather location to ensure their bottles and cans don’t end up as litter or landfill, all while being rewarded for their efforts.”

Users of Crows Nest Return and Earn Express can print a voucher for the refund amount, redeemable for cash at Crows Nest Coles, or they can opt for an e-voucher or payment directly into their bank account or Paypal by downloading the Return and Earn app. They can also donate some or all of their refund to one of the charity partners listed on the machine.

“Return and Earn has become an important fundraising channel in NSW for thousands of community groups, schools and charities raising funds through the scheme.

“More than $42 million has been raised for charities and community groups via donations and fees from hosting return points since scheme commencement,” said James Dorney.

‘Sydney’s Animals For Everyone Rehoming’ will be featured as the local donation partner on the Crows Nest machines. The charity is dedicated to providing abandoned animals with new homes.

Local recyclers can also support the latest state-wide appeal, ‘Youth Off The Streets’, by donating on the screen or via the Return and Earn App before visiting.

To date, more than 9 billion containers have been returned for recycling through the network of 600+ return points across NSW.

The Crows Nest Return and Earn Express is located at 190 Willoughby Road, Narremburn. It is open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday.
