Recently two of our staff completed what is affectionately known in our business as, the Riverina Run. Koryce Su, Administration and Customer Service Officer and Lily Brooks-Pope, Audit and Compliance Officer, spent a week travelling almost 3,000kms visiting 23 of our Return and Earn partnered return point operators. Regarding the experience, Lily Brooks-Pope said, “It was a privilege to see operators handling high amount of volume with such ease” said Lily. “Thanks to our excellent operators who were so welcoming.”
Why do we conduct check ins?
Managing container deposit network operations across NSW is no small feat, and there is a considerable team involved in supporting and delivering TOMRA Cleanaway’s services for Return and Earn. Collections vehicles and drivers, return point operators, field site attendants, technicians, customer service staff, administration, and accounts payable – more than 700 employees are responsible for providing a consistent and convenient customer experience across the state.
One of our commitments to our return point operators and their customers is to complete operational check-ins to ensure service delivery is on point. Two of our intrepid team headed out for the quarterly operator check-in activity in south/ western NSW, taking them into the beautiful Riverina area of NSW.
These visits are important to TOMRA Cleanaway and our partnered return point operator sites, as the process enables both parties to reconnect, revisit services and identify areas for improvement. It is also a great opportunity to catch up and build great partnership relationships between our business and the 300 third-party operators that host a return point for Return and Earn.
This model of network operations means that TOMRA Cleanaway is able to provide a standardised customer experience for Return and Earn in NSW, whilst our return points are able to customise and nuance operational activities based on their local community needs.
The Riverina Run Review
Recently two of our staff completed what is affectionately known in our business as, “the Riverina Run”. Taking the team several thousand KMs through some glorious agricultural land in country NSW, the activity is vital in maintaining connections and positive relationships with our sites out in the regions.
Koryce Su, Administration, and Customer Service Officer, and Lily Brooks-Pope, Audit and Compliance Officer, spent a week traveling almost 3,000kms visiting 23 of our return point operators and conducted operational check-ins. Regarding the experience, Lily Brooks-Pope said, “It was a privilege to see operators handling the high amount of volume with such ease” said Lily. “Thanks to our excellent operators who were so welcoming.”
Sites that were visited during the Riverina Run included over-the-counter return points that are hosted alongside existing businesses such as supermarkets, sporting and recreation clubs, retailers, and even a local post office at Ivanhoe, some 900kms from our Sydney head office!
Following a carefully planned route, all return points were notified of the visit prior to our team attending and a warm welcome was received.
Thanks go to all our sites for being accommodating of Koryce and Lily on the ‘Riverina Run’.
