CITY OF CANTERBURY BANKSTOWN ENJOYS NEW-FORMAT RECYCLING CENTRES
Residents of the Canterbury-Bankstown local government area (LGA) now have more convenient access to Return and Earn with the opening of two new-format recycling centres in Regents Park and Padstow.
“Canterbury-Bankstown residents are to be commended for their enthusiastic recycling, having returned more than 200 million containers since Return and Earn launched in December 2017,” said James Dorney, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, network operator of the scheme.
“The opening of two new Return and Earn Reverse Vending Centres (RVC) brings the total number of return points available in the area to 25, providing locals with even greater access to the scheme,” Mr Dorney added.
Consumers receive a 10c refund for each eligible bottle, can or carton they return or can choose to donate their refund to one of the onscreen charity partners available on the machine, including current local donation partner, Community Support Services Incorporated.
Until the end of August, users of the scheme can also opt to donate to the statewide major donation partner, Royal Flying Doctors Service, which provides healthcare services for regional, rural and remote communities in NSW.
Mr Dorney said Return and Earn participants have the option to print a voucher for the refund amount, redeemable for cash at Woolworths, or alternatively, they can opt for an e-voucher, payment directly into their bank or their PayPal account by downloading the MyTOMRA app before visiting.
The new Regents Park return point is located at 26 Clapham Road and is open from 7am-7pm Monday to Saturday. The new Padstow return point is located at 4 Enterprise Avenue and is open from 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, and 7am-12pm on Saturdays.
