Willoughby City Council’s recycling champions now have even greater access to Return and Earn, with a new ‘Return and Earn Express’ opening recently at 329 Penshurst Street, Willoughby.

The Return and Earn Express return point format is a new addition to the NSW TOMRA Cleanaway network. Express locations are positioned conveniently in retail precincts and shop fronts, with the return points leveraging usual customer shopping activities in bustling locations, such as Penshurst Street in Willoughby.

Member for Willoughby Tim James and Minister for Environment James Griffin recently toured the new facility to launch the site open to the Willoughby community. The pair applauded the seamless customer experience that drop off and 10c refund for each container returned.

“The reverse vending machines offer an easy option to recycle your containers and a way to earn some extra money or help a charity.” Mr James said.

“I encourage everyone to make use of this facility and help ensure a cleaner environment for us all.”

Since the scheme’s inception in 2017, more than 8.3 billion containers have been recycled including 21.9 million in the Willoughby area.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays 9 am to 6 pm and Sundays 12 pm to 6 pm.
